How we operate

Three commitments guide the work

The standards below shape how projects are designed, run, and reviewed in the laboratory.

Rigor

Empirical rigor

Hypotheses are tested against controlled comparisons, and results are validated before they are described as findings. Negative and inconclusive results are recorded with the same care.

Dialogue

Peer communication

We circulate methods and data openly within the scientific community and welcome critique. Discussion with colleagues is treated as a working part of each study.

Oversight

Ethical oversight

All work is reviewed against applicable ethical and safety guidelines. Responsibilities for approval, supervision, and reporting are assigned before experiments begin.

Daily practice

A laboratory kept in order

Precise biological inquiry depends on a workspace that is clean, calibrated, and predictable. Our facilities are maintained on a fixed schedule, with equipment checked, logged, and serviced so that each run can be trusted. Bench protocols are followed step by step, and any deviation is noted at the time it occurs.

Quiet, orderly spaces make close observation possible. We keep the environment as deliberate as the experiments conducted within it.
